Maastricht is known as “The City of Good Taste”. Usually that’s about food, but at Zuyd Craft it’s about – you guessed it! – beer. The guys at Zuyd have been brewing for almost 10 years and know their beers: from weizen to quadrupel, from sour to IPA. And for Just in Baxfest 2025, they’re travelling ‘all the way’ to Groningen.
Who are these guys?
Bas and Hein met at the Maximus brewery in Utrecht where they both were interns. In 2016 they found a spot in an ancient army fort near the city centre of Maastricht. After a short ‘excursion’ to a macro brewery the guys reinvented themselves to become what they are now: an innovative brewery that stays true to tradition but is not affraid to leave the beaten path.
Their past beers include Banana! – a pastry Weizen DoppelBock and Rocket Fuel – a NEDIPA featuring the well known Rocket popsicle.
