When it comes to benchmark IPAs, Verdant is the place to be. Since its founding in 2014, Verdant has become synonymous with hop forward beer styles like India Pale Ale (IPA) and Double IPA (DIPA). Find out at Just in Baxfest why many European craft brewers want to take a cue from Verdant.

Who are these guys?

In 2014, James and Adam started brewing beer in Falmouth – near Penryn where they now sit. James – who ran a falafel shop with his wife – and Adam knew each other from an odd sort of mini soccer. It soon became clear that they shared a common passion: beer!

Many post-football pub nights eventually led to the name Verdant. It was derived from the book “The Adventures of Mr. Verdant Green,” about a first-year student at Oxford.

Nowadays Verdant is one of the best-known breweries of Hazy IPAs and other hop forward beers. They have even developed their own yeast strain. The fact that this yeast strain is used by so many NEIPA brewers adds proof to Verdant absolute benchmark status.
