Getting there – Bicycle
Coming from Groningen Railway Station: On Stationsweg, turn left and continue cycling until you reach the second intersection with traffic lights. Turn right there (towards Media Markt). Then turn left immediately after the bridge (Eendrachtskade Noordzijde). Turn left at the intersection with the A-weg (follow the signs in the direction of ‘Hoogkerk’). Keep cycling until you reach the McDonalds restaurant. There, cross the road to the left (Energieweg) and continue cycling until the bicycle bridge. Park your bike there and cross the bridge. Cheers!
Coming from Groningen Grote Markt: Walk your bicycle to Bakker Bart and then continue to the Vismarkt. Follow the road from the Vismarkt (past the Albert Heijn Korenbeurs, A-weg and Hoendiep) to the McDonalds Hoendiep. There, cross the road to the left (Energieweg) and continue cycling until the bicycle bridge. Stable your bike there and cross the bridge. Cheers!
Getting there – Public Transport
Coming from Groningen Railway Station: Bus 8 towards ‘Hoogkerk Dorp’ leaves at 22 and 52 minutes past the hour from platform F. In just under 10 minutes this bus will take you to stop ‘Atoomweg’ (near the McDonalds). At the bus stop, cross the road towards the Gulf gas station and follow the Energieweg to the left until you reach the bicycle bridge. Cross the bridge and you’ll find Just in Baxfest 2024! Cheers!
Getting there – Car
Why on earth are you coming to a beer festival by car!!!? Suit yourself, but keep in mind that there are many works in and around Groningen through September 2024. Here are the routes you can take by car:
Coming from Drachten (A7): You’re in luck! No work is planned on this route over the Whitsun weekend. On the A7, take exit towards Ring West / Winsum (N370). Take exit 17 towards Centrum / Schilderswijk. Directly at the bottom of the exit, take the second exit at the mini-roundabout (turn left) and drive onto the Suikerlaan. You can park behind the Suiker.
Coming from Assen (A28): You’re in luck! No work is planned on this route over the Whitsun weekend. At the Julianaplein junction, take the A7 towards Drachten and then immediately take the Ring West / Winsum (N370) exit. Take exit 17 towards Centrum / Schilderswijk. Directly at the bottom of the exit, take the second exit at the mini-roundabout (turn left) and drive onto the Suikerlaan. You can park behind the Suiker.
Coming from Hoogezand / Winschoten (A7): You’re in a world of hurt. The Souther Ring Road (Ring Zuid) is closed so you will have to drive all the way around the city. Follow the N46 towards Eemshaven stay on it and take the N370 towards Zuidhorn. Follow the N370 towards Drachten and keep following it, then take exit 17 (Hoogkerk). At the bottom of the exit cross the roundabout (second exit). At the next roundabout take the first exit (right) and you will enter the Suikerlaan. You can park behind the Suiker.
Coming from Winsum / Eemshaven: Follow the western ring road (ring west / N370) towards Drachten and keep following it, then take exit 17 (Hoogkerk). At the bottom of the exit cross the roundabout (second exit). At the next roundabout take the first exit (right) and you will enter the Suikerlaan. You can park behind the Suiker.
Getting there – jetski
Because in earlier times sugar beets were brought in via means of transportation such as barges, De Suiker (and old sugar production facility) is located on the water. So you can choose to come to Just in Baxfest 2024 on your Jetski.
Coming from Starkenborghkanaal out of Friesland: After Aduard, turn right onto the Aduarderdiep. Follow this until the fork. Keep left there. After the Hoendiepbrug, turn left. After about 2 kilometers the Sugar is on your right. Cheers!
