In the province of Noord Holland we find LOST. Their first brew was made on an apartment balcony in Zaandam. And although their packaging says they’re located in Uitgeest they think of themselves as a Zaandam brewery. LOST focuses on hop forward beers (in 50cl cans!) and has been known to also produce some pretty good stouts (‘Kon Minder’ as we would say) and several awesome fruited sours. We cannot wait to see what they’ll bring to Just in Baxfest.
Who are these guys?
LOST is an abbreviation of the names of founders Lorenzo and Stan who were later joined by their friend Michiel. The brewery started out as part of a challenge who could brew the best beer. The challenge was won by Lorenzo who attributes his win to his Italian roots. The friends continued learning more about brewing (they even went so far as to enroll in a course on the Leuven university) and eventually LOST was born.
Fun fact: The brewery was originally registered in Uitgeest (because Lorenzo got his own place there) to prevent their mothers cat from eating the mail addressed to the brewery. In spite of being registerd in Uitgeest, LOST see themselves as a Zaandam brewery.
