Brasserie de la Senne was at the forefront of the “new wave” of craft beer in Brussels. Long before hoppy beers became hip, they were already working with these aromatic flowers. This is where classic and modern come together: Tripel, Blonde, Pale Ale, Saison – all classic styles, but with a modern touch. Don’t miss the mixed yeast beers either!
We are honored to add Brasserie de la Senne to the lineup of Just in Baxfest.
Who are these guys?
Yvan and Bernard met in 2002 at an event in Brussels for which Bernard had already brewed a beer. Over a year later, they started their own brewery. It was so successful that after only two years they had to look for another location. That lasted until the end of 2010. In the meantime, brewing was done at brewery friends.
De La Senne wants to be a real Brussels brewery. Therefore, their beers are mainly available in and around Brussels. Although the beers are exported, outside the Brussels region they can only be found in specialty stores.
De la Senne considers it their mission to restore bitterness to its place of honor in the everyday palette of tastes. This does not mean that bitterness is the only flavor in their beers: all beers form their own harmonious whole of aromas and flavors derived from the malt, hops and yeast used for them.
